Starting something new

Alrighty! Getting moved into Little Rock and stretching my legs in preparation for UAMS, I thought I'd cut through the boredom a bit and start up a blog.

I know that when I started looking into medicine, I was a bit apprehensive about what exactly I was diving into. The goal of this blog, then, is to give some insight to current med applicants (and other medical mogul wannabees) into what goes on in a medical school.

The first step of a blog is, of course, to come up with a clever title. Now, I've been racking my brain for the last few days to think of a good title. I realize - I'm not that clever.

If there's been one comment I've heard weekly since I was accepted into medical school, it's that my signature sucks.
I signed the lease for my new apartment. "You already have a doctor's signature, don't you!"
I signed the release on my medical clearance. "I see you're already practicing to be a doctor."
I finalized my ID card. "Looks like you..." Okay, I get it. I have horrible handwriting. But I learned one thing from these comments. I've met so many medical school applicants over the last few months. Each person has a different backstory, different beliefs, personalities, hobbies, and quirks. The one thing that binds all doctors, it seems, is that we have to have horrible signatures/handwriting.
Hey! A blog title!

I'll try to keep up on this blog at least once a week. Expect my enthusiasm, my fear, my apprehension, and my relief. Medical school's not going to be easy, but it should be fun and, hopefully, I can include some advice for future applicants.

  1. Hey congrats on getting into medical school! I'm currently going into my first year of college as pre-med (no specific major yet) and you're blog sounds fascinating...

I'm excited to hear about your experiences and such on something I hope to do in the future!
